Novena to St. Jude

Priest: To you, Lord Jesus Christ, we offer our prayers today. We acknowledge the special friendship with your Apostle, St. Jude, has with you. Lord Jesus, we join our prayers today to the Eucharist, which renews in us the loving act of your death and resurrection, and expresses most perfectly our communion with you. Be Present with us today and each day of our lives. Deepen our love for the Father and for each other. May the grace and favors for which we pray be granted through you, who lives and reigns with the Father, in union with the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.

Leader: St. Jude, Apostle and martyr, join us now in prayer. We acknowledge your apostolic role in taking to many places the message of Christ's love.

All: We are encouraged by your own generous love for Christ and humanity, which ended in martyrdom. We fully believe that you now rejoice in the happiness of heaven and have sealed for ever your earthly friendship with Jesus.

Leader: We now pray to you as the patron of hopeless cases and desperate situations. As sinners we are aware of the complete trust we must have in God's mercy and love.

Glorious Apostle and martyr, St. Jude Thaddeus, whose life and accomplishments we celebrate, pray for us today that the love of Christ in our lives may increase. Pray that we may renounce every sinful habit and refrain from all selfish actions. May we always know your intercession in danger and in difficulty, and may we safely reach heaven to adore with you the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, forever and ever.

All: Amen!

Prayer for Particular Needs

Leader: St. Jude, Apostle of Christ, the church honors and prays to you as the patron of hopeless and difficult cases. Pray for us in our needs. Make use of the powerful privilege given to you by Christ, bringing visible and speedy help where help is needed.

All: Pray that we may humbly accept our trials, disappointments, and mistakes as a share in the sufferings of Christ. Let us share, even now, in the joy of Christ's Resurrection. Intercede for us, that we may experience this joy in answer to our present needs if it is God's desire for us.
